What's going on again?
CodeInverness is a coding club based in Inverness. We run Code Clubs for children of all ages in the Highlands. With topics as varied as Scratch Junior, Python, Web Design, and even Coding for Minecraft
With the ongoing lock-down related to COVID-19 we are continuing this with online streamed courses the first of which is live on the 20th of May. With this in mind we thought we would share the best way to view our content.
While not suitable for everyone the best way to view our lessons would be with a second device the will allow you to view the lesson and also give it a go yourself. an example of this would be watching the stream or recording on one screen, for example a TV and then to use a laptop, PC, or tablet to follow along with this will allow you to get the most out of the lessons. Stream will show as scheduled in the channel from at least a half hour before the start time so everyone can have it loaded and be ready to go.
If you are unable to do this then you can do it all on one device by either - placing the windows side by side as shown below
this will then allow you to watch the stream and code along at the same time. or by switching windows so you can watch a bit and then code a bit, any way you want is good with us.
Scratch is a great tool and is free. you can either follow along at scratch.mit.edu or, if your internet connection isn't the best, download an offline version at scratch.mit.edu/download
A couple more quick points to note is that to comment and ask questions on the Livestream you will need a youtube account, this is quick and easy to do if you haven't already done so the same applies to scratch projects, if you want to save your work between sessions you will either: need an account at the scratch website, or to download and save the file
Feel free to reach out to us if you have any more questions, we now have a twitter account and a facebook page where you can stay up to date and chat to us and other like minded people about the courses and content provided |
